Closing-the-Gap Results Report

Closing-the-gap interventions are based on building data to target significant gaps in students' attendance, behavior, and/or achievement. This intervention should reach a large number of students. This type of intervention is different than small group interventions as it is based specifically on closing the gap in either attendance, behavior, and/or achievement. Use building EIS data to assist on making plan for closing the gap intervention.

The intervention itself could be provided in a variety of ways: Classroom lessons, small group, before or after-school classes, school-wide or grade level interventions, etc.

To document this program component you should show:

    -A results report that is based on a building need and also reflects program compentencies and indicators. Include in this: target group, process, perception and results data.

        -Process data: What you did, When you did it, Who you did it with, etc

        -Perception data: How did students' attitudes, skills and/or knowledge change as a result of the intervention

        -Results data: The measured change in the gap of students' attendance, behavior and/or achievement.

    - Show how the gap was identified and why it was important to address (based on standards and indicators and/or counseling program goals).

    - Provide any supporting/supplemental evidence related to this intervention.

(OBVIOUSLY THIS MEANS THAT YOU HAVE TO PLAN AND DELIVER A CLOSING THE GAP INTERVENTION. THIS IS DONE MOST EASILY BY USING A CLOSING THE GAP ACTION PLAN TO HELP YOU SET UP THE INTERVENTION

A SUMMARY OF THE DATA COLLECTED THAT SHOWS HOW STUDENTS ARE DIFFERENT BECAUSE OF THE CLOSING THE GAP INTERVENTION

PERCEPTION AND RESULTS DATA - HOW WOULD YOU MEASURE THE OUTCOME OF THIS INTERVENTION - (HOW WOULD YOUR INTERVENTION IMPACT THE GAPS IN EIS DATA)
