Closing the Gap with Small Group Counseling

Participants will learn how to identify gaps in students' attendance, behavior and/or achievement and measure the impact of small group counseling interventions designed to close those gaps. This session will specifically focus on one example of a small group counseling intervention proven to be successful in raising standardized test scores in 4th - 12th grades. However, the process can be applied to other interventions/activities focused on closing the gaps in attendance, behavior and/or achievement. Activities will include discussion to identify gaps at various grade levels and types of data collected to measure impact. Details of Student Success Skills will be shared to focus on closing academic gaps.
